One of the largest particleboard production complexes in the Baltics to be built in Marijampolė region – ILTE UAB allocates €150 million financing

A significant industrial investment of recent years is planned in Marijampolė region, in the village of Nendriniškiai. The national development institution ILTE UAB has signed a €150 million investment loan agreement with FT BOARD UAB, which will develop a modern particle board (MDP) production complex. The total value of the project will reach €200 million.

FT BOARD UAB is a joint project of two partners with extensive market experience – FREDA UAB and the TMV CAPITAL group.

“This project is part of a consistent long-term strategy focused on the production of high value-added MDP products and the growing demand in international markets. Strong partners, clear business logic, and advanced technological solutions allow us to create one of the most modern MDP production complexes in the Baltics,” said Rimas Macijauskas, CEO of FT BOARD UAB.

The loan will finance the construction of the factory, installation of infrastructure, and implementation of modern production equipment. The new factory is expected to create around 125 new jobs.

“This is a strategically important project that strengthens industrial competitiveness, the circular economy, and regional development. Its scale requires clear financial and technological justification, which the FT BOARD UAB project has – with strong partners and sustainable business logic. The largest loan in ILTE’s UAB history reflects confidence in the project’s long-term economic viability and value to the country,” said ILTE UAB CEO Dainius Vilčinskas.

The FT BOARD UAB project stands out for its strong circular economy aspect - the factory will use the lowest grade wood, which is not suitable for high-quality timber products, as well as by-products from the wood industry. The production cycle is planned to be optimised so that wood waste is close to zero.

The factory’s location has been chosen strategically – near the railway line and the Via Baltic a highway. This will ensure lower logistics costs and convenient access to main markets, including Poland and other European countries.

FT BOARD UAB will produce particleboards for the furniture and construction sectors. In the furniture industry, MDP is widely used in case and upholstered furniture production, while construction boards are used for partitions, ceilings, and other solutions.

Lithuania’s furniture industry is one of the country’s strongest manufacturing sectors, generating around €2.5 billion annually and heavily export-oriented. The new factory will strengthen the local raw material base and help increase the sector’s competitiveness in international markets.

The loan is provided under the “Milijardas verslui”  initiative, implemented under the “New Generation Lithuania”, financed by the European Union’s Recovery and Resilience Facility (NextGenerationEU).
